PRI was founded in March 1984 by Mr. Jef Hoggan, to take advantage of the ever increasing demands for anti-static Integrated Circuits Carriers (ICC) used in the manufacturing and distribution of static sensitive semi-conductors and micro-electronic devices. In September 1989, Mountain West Plastics (MWP) became a division of PRI. MWP remained a supplier of ICCs and continues today to be the division that produces shipping and handling packaging solutions for manufacturers of semi-conductors, micro-electronic devices, and electronic connectors. In addition to its extrusion capabilities, in 2000, carrier tape production was added to support the changing needs of the electronic marketplace.

PRI engineers are expert extruder operators as well as machinists. They can assist you with extruder tooling design creation and provide scaled drawings for your review. Each detailed drawing provides you a full-dimensional layout of your extruded plastic solution. PRI helps reduce costs for expensive engineering fees, by providing these services at no charge for customers who order extruded product or tooling.

Since 1984, PRI has served more than 600 customers with plastic extruded products for a variety of market segments. Over the years, PRI has become an expert plastics extrusion house with four single-screw extrusion lines that are operated by 4 expert extruder operators that have more than 30 years of combined experience.

PRI is capable of extruding specialized plastics products in a wide range of polymers; namely, PE, PP, PS, PVC, and ABS. Also available are flex, semi-rigid, rigid, and high impact polymers. PRI can extrude profiles as thin as .010" up to solid rods.

Mountain West Machining & Tooling (MWMT) is a dba of PRI and serves as an in-house machining operation, created to support the tooling requirements of PRI's customers. MWMT is equipped with the latest technological equipment, Mills, Lathes, Sinker EDM and Wire EDM. MWMT also provides research & development resources to the PRI Product Development Team.

With the pressing demands on manufacturer's real estate to be concentrated on manufacturing rather than storage of raw materials, WIP and finished goods inventories, PRI has created a cost reduction service by dedicating 18,200 square feet of secure warehousing space on-site. This has permitted PRI to better serve customers by offering JIT inventory of customers finished goods. PRI accepts blanket purchase orders, produces adequate inventory levels, and then ships the needed finished goods when released. This creates a cost savings for you by eliminating the cost of carrying excess finished goods, frees up real estate for productive activities, and payment terms apply only to delivered units.
